FROM FARM FIELDS TO FILM SETS

THE Journey of a

PRAIRie Performer

Growing up on a Saskatchewan farm, I learned two things early on: how to tell a great story and how to work hard—qualities that have shaped my career ever since.

After 25+ years co-hosting Canada’s #1 country radio morning show and landing over 70 IMDb credits, I’ve discovered my true passion: connecting with audiences, whether I’m behind a mic or on camera. Along the way, I’ve voiced everything from Marvel superheroes like Captain America to quirky LEGO characters, and I’ve worked on projects that demand heart, humour, and range.

When I’m not performing, you’ll find me making music, hunting for the best craft beer, or creating a little too much noise with my family in beautiful Vancouver.

The “Clay Q&A”

  1. If I could have one superpower, it would be…

The ability to open blister packs on the first try, every time. I could RULE THE WORLD.

  2. My favourite way to spend a Sunday afternoon is…

E-biking around gorgeous Greater Vancouver with my wife, Anne. (Yes, I used to think e-bikes were cheating—now I grin like a kid every weekend.)

  3. My favourite movie of all time is…

Goodfellas. The only thing that might delay your voiceover delivery is this masterpiece showing on TV. Priorities!

  4. If I could travel anywhere I’d go to…

Italy, hands down. A country that laughs, eats, and loves with gusto? Sign me up.

  5. My favourite way to relax is…

A stroll through Mountain View Cemetery near my home. Sounds creepy until you see the breathtaking views of Vancouver’s mountains.

  6. Favourite meal of the day?

Late-night snack. (I’m considering an exorcism to cure the habit. Updates soon.)

  7. Go-to drink?

Craft beer, preferably a delicious hazy IPA. Beer snob? Guilty as charged.

  8. Night owl or early riser?

Night owl turned luxurious 5 AM riser (after years of 3:30 AM wake-ups for radio).

  9. If I could live in any era it would be…

The Roaring ’20s—booming creativity, nonstop innovation, and a party right up to the Great Depression.

  10. My favourite hobby outside work is…

Guitar. Music is the third leg of my performing stool—radio, acting, and pickin’.

  11. Speaking of… my favourite music genre is…

Power pop, alt-country, and the Great American Songbook. Picking just one? Impossible.

  12. Favourite way to spend time with family or friends:

Weekend getaways. Local plans are fun, but busy schedules always seem to creep in.
